Scoring an Observation
The principal will be able to go to the scoring page after they have added at least one correlation (either manual or automatic). The principal can get to the scoring page by clicking on the 'next' button displayed at the bottom right of the correlations page. The image below shows the scoring page.
Upon arrival to the scoring page, the principal will have a read-only view of the observation text (they can click Back to edit the text if needed). All correlated text (either manual or automatic) will be highlighted in the observation text box.
As shown below, the correlated text to be scored will display in the "Correlated Text" box, the domain that the text was correlated to will display in the "Code" box, and the correlated text number will display in the "Corr#" box.
When the principal is ready to score a component they must click on the desired radio option value between 1 and 4 or decide to click "NS" for no score (shown below). The principal can also leave one or multiple comments for each component score by clicking on the 'Comment' button displayed to the right of the score options. After a score has been selected the principal can also choose a CD2007 element description that can be added to the observation summary as either a "Strength" or "Recommendation" for the teacher, using the +Strengths and +Recommendations buttons shown below.
After a principal has scored a component they can click the left and right arrows on the screen (shown above) to score the next component or go back to a previously scored component.
Suggesting Resources
Once all components have been scored the principal must click the "Next" button in the bottom right corner of the screen to move on to the 'Suggested Resources' page of the observation. This page is shown below.
The principal can use the 'Suggested Resources' page to recommend resources for the teacher based on specific domains that the principal would like the teacher to work on for their professional development.
The resources can be selected by clicking the checkbox to the left of each resource name. The principal can choose to select more resources by clicking the "More..." button shown above. After resources have been selected the principal must click the "Suggest" button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
The teacher will receive an email notifying them of the resource suggestions. The teacher can then access their recommended resources through the 'My Assignments' menu item when the teacher is logged into the Evals Hub.
Completing an Observation
After clicking Suggest on the resource suggestions page, the principal will be taken to the Strengths and Recommendations page (shown below) where they can enter some final feedback to the teacher before completing the observation.
The principal can click the 'Complete' button in the lower right side of the Strengths & Recommendations page in order to complete the observation. When the observation is complete, the principal will be taken back to the teacher's Observations and Artifacts page. Once the observation is complete the teacher will be able to access it on their Observations and Artifacts page.
